The Schizophrenia Society of Newfoundland and Labrador has received a $25,000 community fund grant from Bell Let’s Talk.
The money will be used for the Schizophrenia Society’s S.P.E.A.K. program, a program which offers free support, education and advocacy to people affected by schizophrenia and psychosis and their families, friends and service providers.
A main focus of the project is on support for young people. The Schizophrenia Society says early intervention has been proven to be “the best way to prevent advancing psychosis into diagnosable schizophrenia.”
