Messy Weather En Route for Most of Province

The weekend kicks off nicely on the weather front but meteorologist expects all parts of the province to be hit in one way or another with a windy, snowy and rainy system during the latter half of the weekend.

The south and southwest coasts could see close to 80 mm of rain Saturday night and Sunday with lesser amounts expected for the rest of the island. Compounding matters will be high winds, expected to gust to close to triple digits for most areas.

Justin Boudreau, meteorologist with the Gander Weather Office, says the Wreckhouse is a different story. Winds could hit 150 km/h, meaning traffic through there will come to a standstill.

It will be snowy and windy in many parts of Labrador including Upper Lake Melville and the north coast.
