A 44-year-old man is facing charges following a break-in at Dover RiteStop, followed by an unexpected dip in chilly Bonavista Bay.
RCMP from Glovertown and New-Wes-Valley responded to a call about a break in at the convenience store around 8:30 p.m. Monday evening.
A masked man had forced his way into the store and stole a number of items.
The suspect fled before police arrived, but was found hiding under the wharf.
Police say he emerged from the water with the stolen property and was arrested and taken to James Paton Memorial in Gander for treatment of hypothermia.
He was released to appear in court at a later date.
