A special tribute album to Ron Hynes, Newfoundland’s Man of a Thousand Songs, will officially be released next week.
Twenty local artists are featured on “Sonny Don’t Go Away” which was produced and engineered by Alan Doyle and Cory Tetford. Among them is Tim Baker who says he jumped at the opportunity.

He says when Alan Doyle approached him, he “pretty much said yes immediately.”
He chose “Leaving on the Evening Tide”, a song he describes as “everything you want a Ron Hynes song to be.”
A sneak preview of the album can be heard on VOCM this Thursday, October 19th at 9:00 p.m. with host Greg Smith. The album will be officially released on Friday.
