The Town of CBS is encouraged by what it calls a significant step forward in the development of The Gateway, a commerical development in the rapidly-growing town.
Since it was first announced a dozen years ago, the area has only attracted a handful of commercial tenants. Mayor Darrin Bent says they expect that to change through a partnership with real estate broker, Colliers International.
He says Colliers has plenty of familiarity with commercial development in smaller centres and the expertise to attract business to the area.
He says Colliers’ marketing engine, contacts and know-how, will “get this done.”
Bent says the partnership with Colliers will not come with a cost to the town, and he expects some announcements in the not-too-distant future.
The Gateway is currently home to Kent, Wingin’ It, Tim Hortons, and Supplement King. It has also been identified as the location for a new community centre.
