Paramedicine students in Stephenville put their skills to the test, responding to a mock plane crash.
Students in CNA’s Primary Care Paramedicine Program at the Bay St. George Campus held its largest-ever mass casualty simulation, with nearly 50 people taking to Devil’s Pond for the six-hour simulation.
The scenario found students waiting for resources with actors playing injured patients with worsening conditions due to blood loss and hypothermia, giving them hands-on experience in a mass-casualty situation.
The event provided practice for how to triage and prioritize which patients get treated and transferred first.
