CRA Looking for Volunteers for Filing Program

Income tax season will be here before we know it, and the Canada Revenue Agency is looking for volunteers to help staff a program that helps many low-moderate income people with their filing.

The Community Volunteer Income Tax Program is a collaborative effort put off by the CRA and local community groups that provides free income tax filing and helps people explore possible additional benefits.

Natasha Brewer, a spokesperson for the CRA, says the service is vital to the various groups they serve, but they’re currently facing volunteer shortages in this province.

Volunteers are needed all over the province including Placentia, Carbonear, Grand Falls-Windsor as well as the entire Labrador region.

If someone is looking to volunteer, they can sign up online or they can call 1-855-516-4405 and speak with a local representative.
