Crews have ben laying asphalt on Elizabeth Avenue and the new shared-use trail on the university side of the street and that means some changes to the detour configuration.
Elizabeth Avenue is now open eastbound through the Allandale Road/Bonaventure Avenue intersection as far as Rodney Street, however westbound is closed at Whiteway Street through to Rodney Street.
Councillor Sandy Hickman expects phase one of the reconstruction to wrap up around December 1.
The two 3-lane sections, at Westerland Road and Anderson Avenue, will be maintained to allow for left-turning vehicles.
