A baseball player from Newfoundland and Labrador has signed on to compete in the NCAA Division 1 with Illinois State University.
Hudson White, who signed a national letter of intent to do just that, has received a full scholarship, which will begin next fall.
White started taking baseball seriously around the age of 14 after an organization called Prep Baseball Report came to the island to check out local talent.

White, who opted to stay in this province to train rather than go abroad, attributes that decision to the level of opportunity available here.
Some might say that Newfoundland is “behind the times” in terms of athletics, but he disagrees. He believes the province is neck-and-neck with the rest of Canada and the United States.
He says indoor facilities and the level of coaching available have created “endless opportunities” for athletes.
