The Department of Health says it is analyzing a recommendation in Seniors’ Advocate Susan Walsh’s recent report calling for the free distribution of high-dose flu vaccines to all residents 65 years of age and older.

The high-dose vaccine is currently offered to residents of long-term and personal care homes 65 and older.

In the meantime, the department is stressing the importance of all residents 6 months and older to get their seasonal flu and COVID vaccines.
